GILDED FARMS

Farmer Brandon Horton was born and raised in the Hudson Valley. After attending culinary school and spending years in the New York City restaurant industry, Brandon completed a multi-year apprenticeship with a highly knowledgeable vegetable farmer just 30 miles from where he was raised.  He then combined his existing love of the outdoors and food, with newfound passions of sustainable farming and community food access, and Gilded Farms was born.

Located in the agriculturally-historic Chester, NY, Gilded Farms operates on one acre of muck dirt to produce a wide variety of crops including mixed vegetables, melons, strawberries, and honey. Black dirt, or muck, refers to the vegetative glacial lake that was drained in the 1800s by European immigrants, to create the extremely fertile farmland that the farm sits on today.

Gilded Farms utilizes sustainable growing methods to organically cultivate vegetables and fruits, while providing healthy food access to all people in our local community.
