FIELD & LARDER

At Field & Larder we grow everything at a human scale. Crops are cultivated and harvested by hand at frequent intervals so that our produce has the texture, appearance, and – most importantly – the flavor that our customers desire. We use organic farming practices and minimize the use of any synthetic inputs. We also trellis many of our crops by hand in order to grow healthier plants and promote ripening.

Our farmer-founder, Charles, has worked in fine dining restaurants that sought out unusual local produce. We grow some staple crops, but we also love Chinese broccoli, spigariello, bitter melon, frisee, and many crops that aren’t as easy to find at the farmers’ market. Part of our mission is to expand the range of vegetable crops available in our area and continue to experiment with new crops.

In 2020, Field & Larder launched the Mini CSA share, an 18 week CSA focusing on specialty crops delivered to Beacon, NY and available for pickup at the Chester Ag Center.  We are excited to announce that we are donating unclaimed shares and extra produce to the food access programs of Fareground, an organization dedicated to distributing local and organic food in Beacon, Newburgh, and Wappinger Falls.

Place orders online by Thursday at 11:59 pm.  It will be ready for pickup on Friday and Saturday

at the Chester Agricultural Center at (8 Greycourt Avenue, Chester, NY.) or The Farmhouse Market (277Main Street, Cornwall NY)
